happy fall y'all

What did one autumn leaf say to another?
I'm falling for you

How do you fix a broken pumpkin?
With a pumpkin patch!

How does an elephant get out of a tree?
It sits on a leaf and waits until Autumn!

What is a tree's least favorite month?
Sep-timmmberrr!

Can you tell I love Fall? FALL- the season that brings cooler weather, football games, scarves, leggings with boots, seat heaters, and pumpkin flavored everything- pie, lattes, bread, muffins, you name it...it's all good! This weekend was rainy and there was a slight chill in the air, if you tried really hard to feel it, so we pretended like Fall was here for good. We baked pumpkin bread, bought pumpkins, and added a little Autumn spice to our place. Although the weather doesn't quite agree and my scarf collection is anxiously awaiting for its debut, we are ready for Fall at 2709! Come on over for a slice of pumpkin bread and some really corny jokes {there's more where those came from}!

this weekend

This past weekend was fun. Really fun! As usual, when in Allen, we crammed a lot into just a few days. We went to a Mavs game, ate good meals and saw friends. The guys went on a 112 mile bike ride {the full distance of Ironman bike course} while my mom and I got manis/pedis, shopped, and went to Jess' bridal shower. Oh, also on the weekend agenda-

Dad got an awesome helmet tan

and

Wrigley got glasses!

Believe it or not, those are the best {and only} pictures I took throughout the entire weekend. Luckily for everyone they are amazing and beyond post worthy.

meet tigley

Wrigley and Tillie got to spend some quality cousin time this weekend {that is if "quality time" consists of Tillie running away while Wrigley follows her around the house, breathing on her neck}. Tye and Katie went out of town so we got to dog sit for a few days. Let me tell you, we were excited but Wrigley was FREAKING OUT!! On the other hand, Tillie was a little leery at first, but warmed up to the idea. We went on walks, played in the backyard, and had a cookout {where Wrigs showed off her skill of licking the air 2 inches away from the food so that she technically isn't touching the chicken, but still annoying everyone at the same time}. Look at Wrigley smiling in this pic; I told you she was excited.

Although cousins, these puppies couldn't be more different {I know weird right, because they are related and all}. Tillie is chill while Wrigs is a wild woman, Tillie is content while Wrigley is nosey, Tillie is fast and agile while Wrigs is fatigued after a jog to the mailbox, Tillie is humble while Wrigley struts her stuff proudly, Tillie is a rule-follower {determined to walk on the sidewalks only} while Wrigley must be restrained on a Gentleleader. Tigley is a great combo of both extremes. Just look at the evidence below-- one is just happy to be getting out of the house, while the other is definitely scheming. And Tate looks thrilled to be on puppy patrol. Despite this picture, everyone had a great weekend! Can I get a "woof" for some cousin love?

rainy day

rain + digging = happy, muddy puppy

It rained all weekend and Wrigley was pumped!  Golden retrievers are known for two things- retrieving and love of water. Wrigs doesn't know how to fetch. Doesn't even care to try. We joke that's what you get when you buy a puppy on sale- a broken retriever. But that's ok, because not only is she cute, she makes up for her lack of retriever skill with her unhealthy obsession with water. You name it- puddles, ice, bathwater, water hose...if it has a drop of H2O on it, she's there. You can also add digging to her list of interests. And, rainy days combine her two passions in life in the messiest of ways.

We found her nose deep in her personal mud puddle. Straight to the bath she went...and then went again...and again. Three muddy play dates and three baths later she was clean and under control...at least for the rest of the afternoon.

wrigley

Hello, my name is Wrigley.

I am an 8-week-old female golden retriever, and I already know that I am the cutest puppy around. Monday was my lucky day. That is the day Tate and Danielle made the hour drive to Conroe to pick me up and take me home.  I have only been with them for 5 days but have already made myself right at home! I have my spot picked out next to the couch and have been strutting around the apartment like I own the place. I like to chew on pretty much anything {especially socks}, sleep in tight spaces {like between the couch cushions} and love to be held. I absolutely do not like baths, the vacuum or my leash. I'm already a pretty good listener despite the fact I usually talk back by barking when told "no." Oh, and I already know how to sit!  I hate to brag, but I am a really good girl, or at least that is what I am told on a regular basis. I had to go for a check-up yesterday and the vet even doted on how calm I was. So far I have been sleeping in my crate without complaining, but am still working on sleeping in past 6:30 AM. Good thing my mom and dad are bums and don't work this summer so they can wake up early and take me out every 3 hours. I'm looking forward to my new home in Waco. Can't wait to get upgraded to a backyard!
